Culloden Elementary is a small school situated in a rural community in Cabell County West Virginia. Despite our size we enjoy a beautiful, modern facility with a functioning media center, 1:1 student devices with supporting infrastructure, and a newly completed outdoor classroom, also equipped with Wi-Fi, which is the first in our county. Our mission is to engage, inspire, and empower students to make a difference in their community and world, and this setting facilitates that occurring. To that end, our school partners with community resources such as our local university, library and nearby museum of art for mentorship and educational opportunities.

The familial atmosphere fosters an inviting school culture where excellence is the expectation and a growth mindset ensures personalized support for all. Our Professional Learning Communities work to maintain a focus on learning and the value of responsible citizenship. Social-emotional learning lessons and professional development create a trauma sensitive learning environment to lay the foundation for teaching and learning. Success throughout the school is celebrated in a variety of ways, ensuring students and staff are recognized for their positive efforts and achievement.

Purposeful use of technology is integrated across the curriculum to increase student engagement and ownership of learning, extend instructional reach beyond the four walls of the classroom, as well as to improve communication with families and assist with staff productivity.
