Sullivan Elementary is a dynamic rural school building that serves students in 4-year-old-kindergarten through fifth grade. Our setting contributes to the welcoming "feel at home" atmosphere families, community members, and visitors feel upon arrival. Our belief is every student is "our" student and every family is "our" family.
Sullivan Elementary prides itself on being student-centered and is committed to engaging our students in new learning, challenging them, and connecting experiences to the world around them. We teach to the whole child by cultivating an "I Can" growth mindset. Social and emotional learning is provided weekly through guidance lessons. Daily affirmations, lunch bunch, birthday lunches with the principal, and monthly multi-grade STEM teams are ways we build our school community and strengthen relationships. Positive and trusting relationships are essential for students, families, and staff.
All students receive high-quality core instruction. Each student's needs are met through flexible small group instruction, What I Need (WIN) time, and projects that challenge or support students where they are at in their learning.
Although small in size, we offer big opportunities with support from our staff, active parent group and community members. Student Council, Lego Club, K'Nex Club, Mosaic Club and STEM teams are offered throughout the school day. Our parent group has supported Artists in Residence, Fun Run (annual fundraiser), and an outdoor learning environment. This outdoor learning environment is utilized to enhance student learning and engage our students to become lifelong learners and problem solvers.
