Prairie View Elementary is a public school serving students in grades K-5 located in Holmen, Wisconsin. We challenge our learners to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We are committed to continuous improvement and view students and families as partners in our students' educational journey.
We believe that learning emerges from discovery more than directives, diversity more than dogma, curiosity more than certainty, and meaning more than mandating. Staff are committed to fostering conditions necessary for students to take intellectual risks while viewing mistakes as essential for deeper understanding. We understand that a "one size fits all" approach does not inspire students to be their best. All students at Prairie View have access to a guaranteed and viable curriculum and receive tiered support both during universal instruction and during WIN (What I Need) time on a daily basis. Collaborative teams work to assure students are being challenged through rigorous and relevant lessons. Staff work together to create short cycle plans and use formative assessment results to guide instructional decision making. When students are not successful during universal instruction, they are provided more targeted and intensive intervention from the collaborative team, an academic interventionist, or social emotional teacher.
With a shared commitment to academics and social emotional learning, Prairie View students excel in the classroom as well as in the greater community. We are thankful for the unwavering community engagement and support. We are proud of our Prairie View family.
