Grand Prairie Collegiate Institute - Grand Prairie, TX
Scholars are engaged in hands-on learning activities.
The Grand Prairie Collegiate Institute (GPCI) is an in-district charter school serving scholars in grades 6-12th. Since its inception in 2013, GPCI has led scholars to unleash their potential through choice in education. "We are What's Next!" is a mantra that challenges scholars to be world changers, transforming them into forward-thinkers, innovators, and trailblazers. High-demand programs of study in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science engage students in hands-on activities and projects empowering them to solve real-world challenges and inspiring them to reimagine how they see themselves.
GPCI specializes in connecting scholars to the many possibilities of the future. Scholars are prepared for college and beyond through rigorous course offerings which include dual credit, advanced, and AP courses. It is imperative that barriers are removed from those underrepresented in STEM education and careers. GPCI strives to create engaging, classroom environments for all which equip students to develop in-demand knowledge and skills.
Transportable skills propel scholars into a bright future. Unique opportunities are provided for relevant, and meaningful learning experiences. One such experience is scholars taking a blueprint and reading, analyzing, and constructing timelines to build an RV-12 aircraft. Scholars are indoctrinated on what it takes to be scholarly leaders and lifelong learners.
Every great invention starts with a dream. Dream Big is often heard throughout the halls of GPCI. It is exciting to see scholars embodying this concept. An unknown author once said, "It will cost nothing to dream, but everything not to." The Grand Prairie Collegiate Institute is where dreams come true!
