Nursery Elementary Kids at Work!

Nursery Elementary Kids at Work!

Nursery Elementary School was established on our current site in 1916. Since then, year after year, Nursery Elementary defies all odds when it comes to student performance. This year we obtained some of the highest accelerated growth measures in the history of the district. At the core of this success is a staff that loves kids, invests in their future, and believes that all children can learn. We are committed to improving outcomes for our students through a collaborative effort on the part of the board of trustees, administration, staff, parents, and our community.

As Nursery Elementary has experienced an increase in enrollment, our beliefs and values have not wavered. Over the last few years, we have added one-to-one technology and become a flagship for our delivery of reading instruction. At our heart, Nursery continues to be a small country school that is a family, first and foremost.

At Nursery Elementary, we believe that anything worth doing is worth doing well. The teachers are masters at their craft and relish any opportunity to gain new insight into how to best reach students. We set high academic, social, and behavioral expectations for every child and hold our students to these lofty ideals. We believe in showing Cougar Pride by being respectful, responsible, and safe. Educating students at Nursery Elementary is a collective responsibility; all students belong to all of us. The staff knows each child by name and takes time to establish strong relationships that last long after our students leave.
