A cornerstone of West Houston's Catholic community since 1958, St. Cecilia Catholic School has been inspiring Respect, Responsibility, and Reverence in our students for over sixty-four years. St. Cecilia students are committed to learning, committed to serving, and committed to leading.
In addition to rigorous academics, PK3 through 8th-grade students participate in service learning through our Giving of Ourselves (GO) Projects as well as through impromptu giving campaigns for schools and organizations with acute needs. These efforts are supported at the classroom level but also within student organizations such as Campus Ministry, our largest student organization on campus outside of athletics. Campus Ministry regularly plans in-house student retreats, participates in social justice campaigns, and organizes interfaith dialogues with local Islamic and Jewish schools. Through these shared experiences, students learn the empathy, grit, and persistence that they also show on the athletic field. The school is at once proud of the numerous championships won across all sports in the past few years, but also humbled by the success of these student-athletes who are often at the forefront of service activities, showing themselves to be servant-leaders in training.
The school faculty and administration support the students by providing safe and challenging classroom environments, employing varied instructional strategies, and encouraging each other and their students to become better than they were before. At St. Cecilia Catholic School, our students and faculty embody a shared mission through a commitment to academics, service, and leadership.
