Gold Hill Elementary School - Fort Mill, SC

Rising to new heights through the joy of learning.

Rising to new heights through the joy of learning.

We are on a mission at Gold Hill Elementary School (GHES). It is one that encompasses all in our school community, made up of approximately 900 students grades K-5 and 100 staff in the community of Fort Mill, SC. We're compelled by clear mission, vision, and core values that drive our daily decisions and interactions. This clarity points us to always focus on growth: learning at high levels and building strong character. We are adaptable, whether it be reinventing how we educate while navigating a pandemic, regularly assimilating new families because of living in a high growth area, or thoughtfully re-teaching a skill not yet mastered. Adaptability fosters a culture of high achievement. All students are supported where they are and provided growth opportunities through intervention, enrichment, STEAM, GHNN news team, Helping Hornets leadership team, Breakfast Bunch, Green Team, or as House leaders. Our mission is an invitation to participate in a special community, but also a reflection of the community as a whole.

The work of teaching and learning is built on a foundation of positive relationships that weave together through a commitment to working together. Our spirit of collaboration leads to more effective and efficient outcomes because we can accomplish more together than we ever could in isolation. Amongst a diverse population with 23 different languages represented, 97.7% of students agree that "Students from different backgrounds get along well at my school." A strong culture focused on connections creates an environment where everyone is valued and belongs.
