Captain Isaac Paine's Math Journey: "The Improvement in the Math State Assessment Scores (5.68 Increase) in the Foster School District"

Together as a team, Captain Isaac Paine School implemented The Eureka Curriculum published by Great Minds during a pandemic! The staff all believed strongly that the students deserved the opportunity to learn from engaging lessons across all grade levels and high quality curriculum. Teachers were amazing in the undertaking of a new curriculum during an unprecedented school year. The students were resilient and the ones who benefited the most from the core instruction and interventions. The families were supportive and engaged in their child's learning. The curriculum provided a print and digital component that allowed for blended learning as well as digital access for all students, teachers, staff, and families. This was a huge benefit to the students learning virtually from home as well as for the teachers and staff.

The District Math Specialist spent a great deal of time supporting students and teachers with core content with Eureka lessons in classrooms. In addition, Teachers were also supported during common planning times and Professional Development Days throughout the year by The Library/Media Specialist and Tech Director. The principal for the last three years could not be any prouder of the work ALL the staff put towards the area of mathematics together. The students are the reason why they are all so proud. The school is always striving to do what is best for students!
