School Wide Veterans Day Assembly during the 2021-2022 School Year.

School Wide Veterans Day Assembly during the 2021-2022 School Year.

Hepburn Lycoming Primary School's strengths consist of collaboration and inclusivity of all students. Our staff use data to drive improvement and embrace parents as partners in their child's education. Each day, the day begins with teachers collaborating in Professional Learning Communities (PLC). Their work consists of co-planning, reviewing data to make instructional decisions, and conversations on curriculum. This daily focus keeps the work of the school on teaching and learning.

As a school, we implement Schoolwide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and find creative ways to inject positive rewards and events for our students. Teachers are leaders in these events, working as a team beyond our own classrooms by recognizing and praising our students while creating a culture of respect and kindness. In every classroom and across the school, PBIS is an expectation used to support student development of self-regulation, individualized interventions, and creates a social-emotional safety net for children.

Our School Improvement Team and school plan focus grade level and student performance goals. Teachers use curriculum-based assessments and diagnostic assessments to measure progress, determine intervention reteaching, and meet the needs of our students. We strive to develop students who are lifelong learners and productive members of our school community.
