In the small city of Wadsworth, Ohio, Isham Memorial Elementary School is continuing to provide the academic excellence that began when the school first opened in 1924. The Wadsworth community has an expectation of building life long learners that contribute back to the community. Isham Memorial Elementary consistently provides educational opportunities for all learners that spotlight not only the required academic curriculum, but also encompasses an environment where all learners feel safe, welcomed, valued, and successful.
Empowering all students is a top priority at Isham Memorial Elementary. Specific programs are designed and implemented for all learners beginning with our youngest pre-school students. Gifted students are serviced by a full time gifted teacher and specially designed instruction is carefully planned for each student. Isham's English Language Learners are also serviced by a full time teacher. Our diversity awareness literacy selections help to create a conversation in each classroom about the importance of acceptance.
Isham Memorial Elementary offers opportunities outside of the school day such as Student Council, Safety Patrol, STEM Club, Chess Club, Lego Club, and Fourth Grade Leaders. Together these opportunities help build well-rounded individuals that impact the community of Wadsworth in a positive way. The entire community of Wadsworth works together to teach the students of Isham Memorial Elementary School the importance of being a good citizen and respecting others. Isham teachers and students work closely with the Fire Department, Police Officers, Library and community businesses to instill a sense of "Grizzly Pride" in our students.
