Sauder Elementary is a K-5 public school within the Jackson Local School District. At Sauder, we celebrate our great students, families and staff. Our students demonstrate respect for others and enjoy learning. Their families value education and partnership with the school. Our staff genuinely cares for students and goes to incredible lengths to do what is best for children.

Our focus is the whole-child. We intentionally deliver services that maximize resources, learning, and student well-being. In addition to daily instruction in reading/writing, math, science and social studies, students also attend bi-weekly or weekly classes in physical education, music, art, and library. Students also visit our school counselor to learn about topics such as conflict resolution. In addition, we use the PAX Good Behavior Game to help students learn self-management skills as they make Sauder a peaceful and productive environment. Our cafeteria provides breakfast and lunch and focuses on locally sourced healthy meals including whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables. Three annual holiday feasts are especially popular.

Academic performance and growth are paramount to our mission. We use Response to Intervention (RTI) to meet students where they are and progress them forward. Combined with the Ohio Improvement Process (OIP), collaborative staff teams monitor student data and plan appropriate instruction. Teachers incorporate a variety of instructional strategies, and student access to Chromebooks helps personalize learning and promote engagement.

We believe in our great students, families and staff and the common purpose and shared vision that unite us.
