South Bronx Classical III is a Kindergarten through 8th grade charter school located in the South Bronx in New York. We work tirelessly to provide rigorous academic lessons to prepare our scholars for success in high school and college. Our scholars have been able to show true mastery of the New York State Performance standards demonstrated by a 95 percent pass rate on the NYS English Language Arts test and a 98 percent pass rate on the NYS Math test from 2018-2021.

Our instructional model is centered on the importance of exposure to standards-aligned content representing diverse points of view, scholar-led conversation to push critical thinking, and scholar work time supported with teacher feedback and revision opportunities. We utilize targeted small group support for all scholars who need additional instruction and reteach opportunities to ensure every scholar is prepared to do their best.

We believe in the importance of teacher support and development to ensure all our scholars have the best learning environment possible. Each teacher receives weekly support from their Grade Team Leader, Instructional Coach and Dean of Students through team meetings, observations, debriefs, and monthly formalized professional development sessions. Our adult culture is one that embodies a love of learning and a desire to grow and improve.

Classical creates highly structured settings that maximizes scholar learning time through efficient, calm, and respectful routines. We develop scholars' characters by providing frequent opportunities to reflect on behavior choices, debate about ways to handle situations, and build socio-emotional skills to handle adversity.
