Lake Avenue Elementary School sits near the heart of the exquisite city of Saratoga Springs, NY. As if symbolic of its location in the center of the historic city, Lake Avenue has a heart that pulsates with enthusiastic care and dedication. Built in 1923, Lake Avenue School has served high school students, middle school children, and, since the fall of 1972, elementary-aged "Lake Avenue Leopards". Lake Avenue strives to meet the evolving needs of its diverse population in the constantly changing society. The soul of Lake Avenue is its people who show an investment in the mission of the school that is pulpable. If there is a need, teachers, staff, families, and community members step forth and work together to meet it. This dedication has built trust and further cultivated involvement that is conducive to a culture of high expectations and performance.
Lake Avenue offers rigorous academic learning with individualized goals, social-emotional support, and opportunities to explore a wide array of interests for each child. With commitment to meeting students where they are, the team works to empower them to dream big and believe in themselves. The motto "Every One, Every Child, Every Day" is the modus operandi of this team. As the school theme song proclaims, "Lake Avenue is...My kind of school" for every age it has served because of the enduring conviction of the entire community to collaborate and share responsibility for the education of its children.
