For over 30 years, Hayes Cooper Center has provided an excellent, well-rounded, rigorous education for the families of Cleveland School District. Located in the heart of the Mississippi Delta, it was the first established magnet school the for area. Grounded in the "PATRIOT" traits of being persistent, ambitious, trustworthy, respectful, innovative, organized, tolerant, and self-controlled, the diverse population enhances student learning and appreciation of cultural differences.
We strive to make the culture of our school positive and learning experiences, centered around best practices, engaging and memorable. We hold high academic, behavioral, and social expectations for all students, and tiers of support are in place to help students meet their personal goals. Faculty and administration use data to monitor and adjust instruction to ensure success. Family involvement is crucial; home-school partnerships and a faculty and staff that embrace a growth mindset are also why Hayes Cooper Center is a success.
Our students enjoy art, physical education, computer technology, library. There is an in-house gifted program. Community partnerships and an active Booster Club also help to provide enriching and engaging experiences.
