KHS Class of 2022 celebrates after turning tassels

Kirkwood High School (KHS) shares a proud heritage and respect for tradition as well as a progressive attitude toward education for all. As students arrive in August to walk their schedules, take school pictures, and gather school resources, it's common to see and hear families and extended family members walking down the senior hallway locating their senior class pictures and telling stories of their KHS experiences.

Dedicated to the principle of supporting the academic and social growth of all students at KHS, staff actively seeks opportunities to expand the school's capacity to narrow the gaps that exist for learners. KHS promotes excellence for all students as they craft their own Portraits of a Pioneer during their four-year learning journeys.Pioneers value Diversity, Independent Thinking, and Personal Responsibility. Pioneers pursue Excellence with Honesty and Integrity and possess the skills necessary to Develop Personal Passions, and find meaning in Life-Long Learning.

KHS takes pride in being a whole-school learning community. Educators teach an inclusive curricula that represents and respects diverse cultures and promote rigorous and relevant instruction for all. This philosophy of learning centers on the idea that students will be prepared to engage in formidable journeys, display a strong affinity for equity, culture, and community, and blaze new trails that grow their impact. KHS offers a variety of platforms to meet the unique needs of each individual student, and guide them as they find their niche within the school. From traditional to virtual, dual enrollment to dual credit, to vocational studies and life skill classes, KHS has over 300 course options to help students find their passions and develop essential skills.
