The Pioneer Charter School of Science II (PCSS II) is a regional public charter school serving North Shore communities in Massachusetts since 2013. PCSS II is the second school in our network. Our student population is diverse, almost half of them speak a language other than English at home. The school culture is welcoming, accepting, and respectful of all students. Our students are challenged by the high expectations we set for them and are supported continuously in and out of their classrooms to ensure that they are successful. As an extended learning time school, the PCSS II school calendar is 195 days long.

PCSS II has a rigorous college-prep, STEM-focused academic program. Students graduate college-ready and have high college persistence rates compared to their peers in the nation. Our character education program supports the development of our students into responsible citizens and exemplary members of their communities. Every student completes community service hours before they graduate. PCSS II staff are dedicated and nurturing. They go above and beyond to ensure every student is successful. As a result of this dedication, our students not only surpass their peers in the cities and towns they live in, but they outperform their peers in affluent communities. PCSS II is well known for the rigor of its program and for its exemplary student outcomes. Our focus on college readiness, data-informed decision-making, and student support programs have attracted interest from educational researchers. We take pride in the PCSS II family that we have.
