Folsom Elementary, located in the small rural village of Folsom in southeast Louisiana, is a Title-I elementary school that provides a high quality education to students in grades Pre-K-5th.Our enrollment averages around 420 students. Our school works hard to meet students where they are academically and use small group instruction and interventions to fill in unfinished learning gaps.

One focus we have is to celebrate positive behavior and provide instruction and support when negative behaviors are presented. Our PBIS program celebrates with Honor Roll Breakfast, Student of the Month, Tiger Bucks and Tiger Buck Store, Positive Office Referrals, recognizing students for displaying extraordinary actions by writing certificates, calling parents to celebrate with them, and announcing the recipients to the whole school. We have quarterly celebrations such as Bingo, Water Day, Cake Walk, and other fun events.

One area we attribute a lot of our success to is the dedication we have educating all students in the general education setting to the greatest extent possible, while providing accommodations and support. We believe that the inclusive models we utilize made a direct impact on the tremendous growth our special education subgroup made for the 2018-2019 school year. The progress we made lessening the achievement gap was like no other. We believe that a combination of all these practices, along with many others, enable our students at Folsom Elementary to be successful.
