Founded in 1923, South Highlands Elementary Magnet School is celebrating its centennial year of educating kindergarten through fifth-grade students in the historic South Highlands neighborhood of Shreveport, Louisiana. South Highlands has been committed to a tradition of academic excellence and developing a lifelong love of learning in its students.

South Highlands is a magnet school where students and families come together from diverse rural, urban, and suburban communities. South Highlands is Louisiana's first Arts Integration School, an academic and performing arts magnet school.
