Longbranch Elementary School - Union, KY

Kindergarten end of year family celebration.

Kindergarten end of year family celebration.

Longbranch Elementary School has been home to over eleven thousand students over the past twelve years. As Longhorns have entered and exited our building, we have worked to foster interpersonal skills, intra-personal skills, empathy, and a growth mindset within our students, so that they may continue to positively impact our community and beyond.

Longbranch adopted The Leader in Me framework which is our operating system for leadership, academics, and culture. Longbranch students and staff live the seven habits each day resulting in our school being recognized as a Leader in Me Lighthouse School twice in the past six years. Our social and emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum organically developed from the guiding principles of The Leader in Me and CASEL standards. We intentionally provide SEL instruction for all students on a daily basis to meet the needs of the whole child. On any given day walking through our halls, you will see students performing many of the leadership duties traditionally reserved for adults.

As we continue to create deeper learning experiences for all students, our teachers and school leadership work collaboratively in Professional Learning Communities. Teaching teams work diligently to analyze common formative and summative assessments to ensure student mastery of grade level standards and to inform the Multi-Tiered System of Supports. It is our goal to have all Longhorns leave Longbranch with the academic and leadership skills to achieve, lead, and impact our community and beyond.
