Wood Oaks Junior High School is located in the northern suburbs of Chicago in the Village of Northbrook. Over the past few years, the concept of a changing world has taken a position at the forefront of the work of all educators. As schools adapted to a changing world environment around them, the entire Wood Oaks Wildcat community of students, parents, educators, and health care providers came together to ensure the high quality of teaching and learning that has always been present at the school would continue.
In addition to a rigorous and creative curriculum, Wood Oaks boasts a comprehensive and thoughtful social-emotional learning environment with Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) at its core. All staff members celebrate the accomplishments of their students in and out of the classroom as they instruct students on the right way to make good decisions. At the heart of the continued success demonstrated by Wood Oaks students is the staff commitment to continue to reflect on our practices and look for any areas of needed enhancement. Whether it is adding a more robust STEM program or reviewing our ongoing assessment data to find the right tool, our staff will do whatever is necessary to ensure Wildcat students are prepared for high school and beyond.
