Chelsea Elementary School is a warm and welcoming place that embraces the developing independence of the intermediate learner within an academically challenging and socially supportive learning environment. Our students, families, and staff all take great pride in our school. Together, our parents and teachers act as true partners in education, collaborating to create a learning environment where all students can thrive. It is the balance of academic rigor, coupled with social and emotional learning, that fosters the success of our Chelsea Tigers.

Our curriculum is rooted in the Illinois State Standards and is brought to life by our talented teaching staff. Our teachers provide lively, differentiated instruction that both engages our learners and provides the level of challenge or support they need in order to be successful. This enables our learners to routinely reach high levels of academic achievement.

Though we are extremely proud of that achievement, we are equally as proud of the emphasis our school has on social and emotional wellbeing.Every Friday every Chelsea student and staff member participates in Tiger Time, a special portion of the day dedicated to social and emotional learning.During Tiger Time students can learn about each other, problem solve, and practice their collaboration skills through projects, games, and discussion. This time just reinforces our belief that the ability to cultivate and strengthen relationships, to communicate respectfully, and to be of service to those around you is just as valuable as academic success.
