Christ the King School (CK), a private, catholic school, is located on the far southwest side of Chicago in the historic Beverly Hills neighborhood. This school is home to over 400 students in preschool through grade 8. The strong community connection and a shared faith attract new families and bring alumni back to CK to raise their children. Small class sizes, academic rigor, differentiated instruction, extracurricular activities, and a welcoming, faith-filled atmosphere are some of the factors families cite for choosing CK.
Christ the King provides a challenging curriculum that exceeds grade-level expectations. Faculty and staff embrace multiple paths to learning. While following Archdiocesan and Common Core State Standards, innovative approaches are combined with instruction, and taught by skilled, compassionate teachers. Classes are comprised of cooperative learning, differentiated instruction, flexible seating, technology, and flipped classrooms. Walk down the hallways at CK and no two classrooms look alike. Students are engaged in learning using interactive boards and personal devices, sitting in groups at tables, at desks, at work stations - engaged in collaborative work and discussion. The content, process and product are varied to best meet the learning needs of each student. CK's motto is Dream Big, an acronym for the recipe for success: Determination, Respect, Effort, Accountability, Mindfulness, and Believing In God.
