When you step onto the campus of Kahala Elementary School, you feel a strong sense of belonging and connectedness; love and Aloha. The faculty, staff, students, and families truly embrace the components of Choose Love where we learn and show courage, gratitude, forgiveness, and compassion through our actions. It is our mission to provide a nurturing environment which supports and educates the whole child. We provide a variety of learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom. Students receive a balance of direct core instruction from their classroom teacher as well as student centered instruction through the various special classes such as PE, garden, art, music, library, and Kupuna (Hawaiian Studies).

In addition, we have partnerships with Hawaii Theater for Youth, Hawaii Opera Theater, and Artists In The Schools. Our classrooms serve as a safe learning environment where students and faculty work alongside each other to engage in conversation, collaborate, problem solve, and design solutions. With the variety of instructional opportunities, approaches, and strategies, our students are engaged in rigorous and relevant curriculum which challenges them to think differently and apply the skills and knowledge to address real world problems.
