Kester Avenue Elementary/Kester Magnet's focus on cultivating a community that fosters parent participation, targeted professional development, and collaboration among teachers is the foundation for success at our school. This welcoming environment encourages teamwork across our school community. As a result, students are given opportunities to reach their full potential and find their passion for learning.

The dedication of our volunteer community through fundraising and on-campus participation provides assistance and enrichment programs. These programs offer students the opportunity to explore science, computers, art, music, theater, and physical education on a daily basis. Students are excited to experience our creative, hands-on programs. We value the diversity of our student population with their variety of backgrounds and experiences. There are 26 languages spoken in our student's homes. Our staff pride also extends to many of their own children who have attended our school throughout the years - a good indication of a quality school.

The high level of professional development and collaboration among teachers has fostered explicit instruction to meet all students' needs - whether they are struggling in an academic area, learning English, neurodiverse, or students who benefit from activities of depth and complexity. We specialize in meeting students where they are at and guiding their growth and development in academic, behavioral, and social-emotional areas.

Our philosophy at Kester Avenue Elementary/Kester Magnet ensures that we are providing a high-quality instructional program for all students; while valuing the diversity of our students, cultivating community, and providing enrichment programs to showcase creative avenues for learning.
