Newcomb K-8 Academy is the home of the Spartans. Our amazing community educates students from all over the Long Beach Unified School District. Newcomb is committed to educating the whole child; with a staff and parent community dedicated to meeting the academic and social emotional needs of every Spartan; and a student body that is motivated to learn and achieve.
At Newcomb we aspire to help every student realize their individual potential through our challenging and differentiated academic program. This begins with a school-wide commitment to guiding decisions based on what is best for students. Our teachers regularly plan and collaborate together to provide a high quality curriculum that is preparing students for success. Teachers work to make student thinking visible and valued, provide multiple entry points for learning, honor diverse perspectives and background experiences, and deepen content understanding of key standards and skills.
We believe that building relationships is critical to meaningful collaboration and student success. Relationships are at the core of our community's success. Our very active parent groups continually go above and beyond to create events and provide resources designed to bring people together and enrich student academic success. Our high-performing staff, coupled with our strong parent partnerships, has helped Newcomb support all our students and makes Newcomb an outstanding place for all children to learn.
