At Kolb Elementary School, we care about each and every child and are committed to meeting their individual needs: social-emotional, behavioral, and academic.We work collaboratively several times monthly to cultivate strong relationships amongst our staff, examine our instructional practices, and plan intervention (RTI) and enrichment for our students.

As a team, we believe "all means all," and are committed to ensuring that our students are given the proper support. Our core focus is on building student agency, by creating learning opportunities which allow a child to individualize their educational journey and think critically for themselves. We accomplish this by encouraging them to show what they have learned in a variety of ways while learning to self-evaluate their progress. Through our robust (during and after school) intervention programs, we accelerate learning for our students by building stronger relationships and targeting critical skills.

Kolb's traditions of creating social contracts and greeting students individually by name, were boosted by our implementation of Social Emotional Learning at every grade level to enhance our effort to make every child feel seen. This approach was instrumental in building strong relationships and greatly improved our students' ability to self-regulate, identify emotions and effectively communicate with peers and adults, post-pandemic. For some students, our bi-weekly Coordination of Services Team (COST) meetings provide support from specialists to address the needs that continue to challenge our students.By intentionally designing our systemic responses to meet all our students' needs, we ensure all Kolb Eagles achieve their highest potential.
