Granite Ridge 7th Grade Welcome and Orientation

Granite Ridge Intermediate School is located in a suburban area of Fresno in the heart of California's San Joaquin Valley. The school is part of Clovis North Educational Center (CNEC), Clovis Unified School District's third educational center, which opened its doors in August 2007. CNEC prides itself on being a 7th -12th grade campus composed of two sites, Granite Ridge Intermediate and Clovis North High School. This unique educational setting has allowed the staff and community to strive for academic achievement through a variety of unique opportunities, which include a robust vertical articulation through the grade levels.

Granite Ridge's track record of success has been built by establishing a culture of excellence, interpersonal accountability, and collaboration. From its inception, the campus was envisioned as a place where students could maximize their potential in mind, body, and spirit. To that end, teachers and students have embraced high standards and continuously inspire one another to reach for new levels of attainment. Having organized all of our curricular teams into Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), we hold each other mutually accountable for student outcomes and benefit from a shared sense of collective efficacy.Because Granite Ridge is housed within a grade 7-12 educational center, it also allows our teachers to align their instruction with the high school campus, which means that students are particularly well prepared to succeed at the next level. In addition, we believe that much of our success is due to a set of ethical principles known as the Code of the North that guide our behavior and form the basis of a thriving campus culture.
