Iron Horse Middle School prides itself on being a true community. The staff works in the content area and grade level teams, in collaboration with the administrative and support teams, to maintain a school campus that is beautiful and safe, and classroom experiences that are engaging that develop lifelong skills. Clear and consistent communication to our community is one of our top priorities. In the core content areas, our teachers create a variety of opportunities to read, write, share, and collaborate with peers each and every day.

Our school has an elective program that goes out of its way to make sure that students are exposed to and develop interests outside of traditional content areas. We give students the opportunity to explore world languages, home living skills, applied technology skills, computer programing skills, and music skills. Our leadership and AVID electives focus on growing our students as the next generation of problem solvers. In keeping with our tradition of high standards, our physical education department is the premier physical education department in our school district. Our team of physical education teachers has designed and implemented a model program that focuses on individual student growth in both health and fitness. They have also designed an impressive after-school sports program that drew record numbers of participants this school year. At Iron Horse Middle School we develop students who are lifelong learners to be productive members of our community.
