Cherokee is a public school that delivers a world-class education to a diverse population of students and parents. While we are located in a high-socioeconomic neighborhood, more than 50% of our students come to us from other areas via open enrollment, creating a diverse community. The school was rebuilt during the 2020-21 school year and has unique collaborative spaces, outdoor learning areas, and state-of-the-art educational technology.

Cherokee students consistently score among the top 10% of the state and outperform other schools on state assessments. Along with being recognized by the Arizona Educational Foundation as an A+ School of Excellence, Cherokee is also Arizona's first National Literary Landmark.

At Cherokee, we pride ourselves on the collaborative relationship we have fostered with our community. Parent involvement is high on our campus, and through our amazing parent association, we are able to engage families in a number of exciting events, activities, and traditions. Anyone who visits Cherokee immediately feels the positive climate we have established, thanks to our PBIS framework that makes Cherokee a special place.

Cherokee is also proud to offer exciting extracurricular activities through both outside vendors and funding from our school district's tax credit program. Some of these activities include chess, coding, dance, art, robotics, choir, and gardening.

Cherokee is one of Arizona's finest schools. Student achievement, parent involvement, program offerings, and supportive climate and culture work together to create a school of which our community can be proud.
