Walter Jackson Elementary is a public school in Decatur, Alabama, serving approximately 250 students in grades K-5. Functioning as five houses that embody our one family, our daily focus builds upon our desire to ensure that all students achieve at the highest level.
Data-driven, our teachers work together daily to plan and adequately instruct students on their grade level while setting high expectations for growth in every area, including academically and socially. Teachers work diligently to create engaging lessons focusing on collaborative learning and real-world applications. Students thrive on success and reaching set goals to become Math Masters and understanding that we only get better in everything we do if we "Read, Read, Read, and Read Some More!"
We know that our students can only be great once they believe that we believe in them. Our blocks of success continue to build upon a foundation of relationships. We pride ourselves in the relationships we build with parents, community members, and students. Our small community school has watched multiple generations pass through the halls of Walter Jackson. Our success grows daily, and nobody can tell it the way we do. So, at THE JACKSON....we continue to write our own story.
