Tongue River Elementary (TRE) is nestled at the base of the Bighorn Mountains in the beautiful state of Wyoming. At Tongue River Elementary, every child is of value and the education of the whole child is of the utmost importance. We live the belief that every child has the ability to be successful and put children at the forefront of all decisions.
Family Time is a scheduled part of the day and social-emotional lessons are taught throughout the building during this sacred time. We have an inclusive, safe environment and a beautiful new school. Schoolwide kindness challenges remind us monthly to follow our vision, which is: "To be known for our kindness and our academics." Teachers and staff demonstrate this vision by living the Professional Learning Community model and continuously model a love for learning. Data drives our evidence-based instruction and is a guide for all we do. Teachers work collaboratively to meet the unique needs of every child at Tongue River Elementary, whether it is related to their academics or to their social-emotional health.
Positive conversations take place daily with students as we truly care about each of them and believe relationships are a priority. Our entire TRE Family, including our custodial, kitchen, and office staff, have positive relationships with our students. Our school and our Tongue River Valley community are of the utmost importance as our kindness challenges often reach well beyond our walls. To be an Eagle means to be a valued member of our TRE Family. Each Thursday every child stands and sings our TRE song, which begins with the line "We are TRE, we are one big family!" These words ring true in all we do.
