Crescent Elementary School - Beckley, WV

Crescent Elementary is located in the heart of Beckley, West Virginia. Our area boasts a strong tradition of hardworking residents who want to better their families and community. We are
rich in the heritage of coal mining but, with the loss of the largest part of that industry, our area still struggles with redefining itself and the economy. Our students come from varied
backgrounds and family types. We pride ourselves in embracing the whole child, honoring each student's individual gifts and talents.

The Chipmunk school community is known for high expectations and achievement. Our school has received many state awards. The dedicated staff at Crescent work hard each day to maintain those high achievements, all while cultivating a climate that encourages learners to achieve all they can achieve. At Crescent, we pride ourselves on being "bucket fillers" and believe in building others up, working hard, and taking care of our school and community. During the school shutdown of 2019-2020, staff created videos and social media pages to continue engaging students and their families with science projects and lessons about how to stay safe and healthy. Many staff members volunteered to hand out and deliver boxed meals to school-age students and their families. At Crescent, we believe in a "can-do" attitude and believe our school is the best place to work and to learn.
