Meadows Of Dan Elementary School - Meadows Of Dan, VA
The Meadows of Dan Cardinals, a true family!
Meadows of Dan Elementary School, located in the Blue Ridge Mountains, is part of the Patrick County School District. Our mascot the Cardinal represents our "Cardinal PRIDE," which stands for preparation, respect, integrity, discipline, and excellence.
We take pride, along with our community, in meeting the needs of the whole child. We believe in meeting the individual needs of students to ensure their success as productive citizens of our ever-changing world. We do this by building positive relationships, creating a culture of high expectations, providing innovative learning opportunities, working together with families and the community, and looking toward continuous improvement and best practices.
A notable strength at Meadows of Dan Elementary is our professional development in reading and implementation of reading instruction based on the science of reading research. Our teachers along with all staff members are a key piece of promoting reading growth and a love of literacy for our students and their families. A focus on phonemic awareness and beginning reading skills in preschool through third grade allows us to see success for our older students. At Meadows of Dan Elementary, our students are provided with meaningful learning experiences each day.
