Lewiston Elementary School - Lewiston, UT

Lewiston Elementary is a Title I school located in a rural, agricultural community in Northern Utah. We serve over 500 students in kindergarten through sixth grade from the surrounding towns and cities. Lewiston has a rich history with families who have sent multiple generations to learn in our classrooms. Our close-knit family school culture is a positive one that supports academic, social, and emotional student learning and growth.

Working in professional learning communities teachers analyze data, review, and plan curriculum while also coordinating with English Language and Special education services. Instrumental to our success, our dedicated educators and paraeducators work closely together to provide systematic, targeted instruction to meet the needs of each individual student, both remedial and enrichment. Throughout the day students can be seen learning in small groups with teachers who have mastered the techniques of direct instruction to ensure that students are engaged in learning. Utilizing shared data, teachers meet as teams and individually with the literacy facilitator and principal to review student progress regularly and adjust instruction accordingly. Our Teacher Assistance and Guidance (TAG) team of teachers helping teachers provides support for implementing interventions when students struggle to progress academically, socially, or emotionally. Our full-time school counselor provides additional support through whole class lessons, small learning groups, and individual sessions.

Our success can be attributed to the combined efforts from parents, teachers, paraeducators, principal, and support staff. Together we CAN and DO make a difference each day in the lives of our students.
