Mission

Calder Road Elementary School (CRES) will empower and educate every student to make decisions that reflect exemplary character and build proficiency and excellence in all academic subjects. Our students will leave CRES with a solid educational foundation in order to pursue their goals and dreams. CRES staff will work tirelessly to find innovative solutions to problems that hinder students from maximizing their full academic potential and social and emotional well-being.

Calder Road Elementary(CRES) is part of the fast-growing Dickinson Independent School District. We are located halfway between the hustle and bustle of the international community of Houston, and the quiet gulf coast town of Galveston, Texas. We serve a beautifully diverse community that embraces inclusion and celebrates differences. Our working families represent the best of what the Houston/Gulf coast has to offer, including the United States Coast Guard, The University of Texas Medical Branch, NASA, and our local refineries. Our community has come together to overcome the devastation of Hurricane Harvey, and most recently, we have had immense success educating students during the pandemic.

Our staff is innovative, inclusive, passionate, and collaborative. The culture of Calder Road is one of "NO EXCUSES." We believe in the potential of every child and adult, and we tackle obstacles by searching for innovative solutions. Our staff has fun while maintaining a high level of excellence. We believe that we are the best, and that we have the potential to change the world, one student at a time. We also believe in public education. We know that public education has the true power to ensure that every child has an equal opportunity to identify their gifts, follow their dreams, and change the world.
