STISD Preparatory Academy Teamwork

STISD Preparatory Academy Teamwork

South Texas ISD Preparatory Academy seeks to engage and empower learners to become the best version of themselves. This is made possible in the context of a community of communities that promotes successful students by focusing on learning, working together, and being accountable for results.

The administration works collaboratively with faculty and staff to hire and retain educators who are not only exceptional in their field, but who embody a spirit of collaboration and accountability to always strive for excellence. Through a system of grade-level teams, faculty interact across departments to nurture and support one another while discussing strategies and interventions with the goal of ensuring each student has a pathway to success in learning.

Students learn responsibility, commitment, and leadership through involvement in a variety of clubs, student-led organizations, sports, and other interscholastic competitions. Spartan Academic Mentoring periods and Spartan Enrichment Times provide support through the use of restorative practices including circles of support and affirmation-furthering the growth of community and the sense of profound respect and appreciation for the gifts and talents of all.

Parents are welcomed as collaborators in the education of their children. Through PSTO, as well as involvement in literacy workshops and other enrichment activities, parents are equipped with skills to support their child's academic and social learning.

Finally, community engagement serves to allow the gifts and talents of the Preparatory Academy community to be shared beyond the campus through involvement in service events such as Spartan Olympics, recycling, and other volunteer opportunities.
