Thrasher is a professional learning community that develops skills in young people that will be valuable 100 years from now. We speak of Thrasher as a Century School because the impact we have as educators in students' lives will last a century or more.

The children in our community spend so much time with us. Individually and collectively, we have a huge impact on the trajectory of a student's life. The experiences they've had at Thrasher will have an impact on how they raise their own children and interact with schools going forward. We understand that we impact the course of generations and will never see the fruits that are harvested 100 years from now.

We also understand, that 100 years ago, the people who made this country excel were those that could creatively solve problems, exercise curiosity while thinking critically and analytically, collaborate with others, and communicate in speaking and writing. These are just some of what we call "Century Skills." These are the same skills that will be essential 100 years from now - no matter what technologies or paradigms are in place.
