Mayo High School for Math, Science, and Technology fosters a safe environment through a collaborative STEM/STEAM curriculum with high expectations. We encourage our students to become independent learners and allow them to investigate their interests beyond the scope of the classroom, implementing real-world authentic learning and developing their interest in specific areas. This growth instills confidence in our students and prepares them for the next level and beyond.
Our unique schedule, which provides a 30 minute activity period daily, allows students to receive tutoring from any teacher, become involved in clubs with community service projects, participate in intramurals, select life skills sessions, or be active participants in the student council. Our students are also offered life skills sessions where they get the opportunity to learn about anything from their digital footprint to sewing on a button. These sessions support our students beyond the core curriculum.
Charting student growth with our data teams ensures that our students are successful and are constantly growing. Collaboration is essential to our school plan. Administrators, core subject teachers, and specialty teachers work together to achieve our mission and foster our students to become lifelong learners and productive members of our community. Our technology focus makes us a front-runner for innovative virtual and in-person learning. As a result, our students have the skills and mindset for 21st-century success.
Our mascot is the Phoenix, the firebird, and our school ensures that students are ready to be the change that lights the world.
