McAlester, Oklahoma, located in beautiful southeastern Oklahoma, is the home of Edmond Doyle Elementary. We're a Title I school and we face many of the challenges typical of our society. One thing that makes us special is our attitude towards adversity. We teach our students that no matter what life throws at you, education is the equalizer that will determine the course of one's life. Everyday is full of choices so we teach our students to consciously make good ones daily! They leave us knowing that they are responsible for their actions and despite their circumstances, they alone are responsible for their future.
Every student in our school has an iPad or a Chromebook. Since Covid, Tech Tuesdays are a regular activity here. We practice Distance Learning at school to prepare in case we need to learn at home. Our school is also a Monarch Waystation since we are in the migrational path of the monarch. We feed, observe, and tag monarchs on their way to Mexico. Our STEAM program is just one way we encourage higher order thinking skills in our students.
Edmond Doyle is a 2014 National Blue Ribbon School and we are proud to become a 2021 National Blue Ribbon school this year. Our motto is "We work hard and we play hard!" Staff, students, families, and community members work together to make our school a place where children thrive. Strong relationships are fostered. We love learning and we love each other at Edmond Doyle!
