Orchard Park Elementary = Outstanding People Making a Difference Every Day!
Orchard Park Elementary is a welcoming and high-achieving school because of the "Outstanding People Making a Difference Every Day!" The OP abbreviation for Orchard Park also stands for "Outstanding People!" This is our school mantra, and the outstanding people are our students, staff, families, and community members. We are known for our welcoming and inclusive environment. We believe that collaboration among all of us is critical in fostering the academic, social, and emotional growth of each Orchard Park Elementary student.
Through our targeted academic interventions, 1:1 technology for students, and consistent professional development training for staff, we have successfully and significantly closed gaps in student learning. Orchard Park was recently honored to receive the 2021 Dayton Regional STEM Center's Education Community Collaboration Award from the Montgomery County Educational Service Center, which further recognizes Orchard Park's success through collaboration. The incorporation of STEAM education encourages our students to become engaged collaborators, lifelong learners, critical thinkers, thoughtful communicators, and emerging global citizens.
Implementing schoolwide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), which promote respect, responsibility, and safety, has also contributed to Orchard Park Elementary's success. "Outstanding People," which includes all students, staff, families, and community stakeholders, take ownership of demonstrating respect, responsibility, and safety as they work together to be sure that every student is included and that every student can access what they need to learn and grow.
