Westerly Elementary School - Bay Village, OH

Westerly has consistently been ranked "Excellent" by the Ohio Department of Education, and has been recognized previously as a National Blue Ribbon School. Westerly has also been named a National WILD School Site by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for its beautiful outdoor courtyard. Westerly prides itself on providing a nurturing learning environment to our students by integrating learning through all curricular areas. Staff have worked to collaborate on educational programs to address the social and emotional needs of each individual student. We are also proud of our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports program (PBIS), where students earn "Rocket Bucks" for demonstrating excellent Westerly citizenship. The implementation of "Move Up Days" has eased the transition to a new school and grade level. The success of the Extended Day program at Westerly provides students with additional early intervention needed in math, reading and writing to demonstrate a year's worth of growth and proficiency on Ohio State Tests -- years before Gov. DeWine suggested it! The Westerly staff demonstrates the highest quality of teaching and learning and supports students and their families academically, socially and emotionally, working collaboratively in the best interest of children.
