Saint Brigid of Kildare School is honored and blessed to cap off our school's twenty-fifth anniversary celebration with our third National Blue Ribbon School Award for Academic Excellence. Unlike our two previous National Blue Ribbon Awards in 2008 and 2014, this year's award comes at a time of global pandemic and multiple other issues stressing the fabric of our nation. These times call us even more strongly to our Catholic faith, to our mission, and to the historic foundation of American parish elementary schools upon which we stand.
A faith-based, child-centered, and standards-based education provided by professional educators, most of whom devote their entire careers to parochial education, allows our students to thrive academically, physically, creatively, socially, and emotionally, and to reach their full God-given potential even in light of the difficulties and division that surround us all. Students learn to value unconditional kindness, respect, responsibility, and their personal commitment to be ready to learn at all times. Teachers provide unconditional love, support, and clear and consistent guidance and expectations for both learning and behavior. In our K-8 building, students literally grow up in our school, transitioning from learning from the example set by older students to eventually becoming the older students who lead by example and illustrate for their younger peers how we live within a community of faith. Lived faith, tradition, community, academic excellence, and award winning: that is Saint Brigid of Kildare School, past, present, and future.
