CHS, the glue that keeps our community together!

Steeped in our sixty-year Cougar tradition, Commack High School thrives with a strong sense of community and family, focusing on academic excellence and opportunity. Our school serves as the hometown main street, the glue that keeps our community together where students cherish the past, explore the present, and build for 21st century successes. We prepare every student for whatever they want to achieve when they leave our schools. We pride ourselves on our model of continuous improvement, providing academic choice and challenge through robust offerings of college and career preparatory programs to support all future pathways. Remarkably, 98 percent of our students participate in at least one college-level course and over 65 percent participate in five or more college-level courses by graduation.

Commack High School has balanced, self-directed, personalized programs and courses of study expanding access and opportunity for college and career-level learning to include: IB, AP, and PLTW enriched courses, college-level courses with college-credit earning opportunities and research across the curriculums, the humanities, robust electives, social and emotional learning and support programs, fine arts, music, technology, career exploration, technical and business training and internships, school to work programs, athletics, honor societies, and clubs. Our fully inclusive programs invite all to enroll in pre-college level learning.

Our students are shaped through innovative, state of the art teaching and project-based learning while enjoying their passions. Students are highly involved in over 85 student-led organizations, which are tied to community service opportunities helping our students to become caring, open-minded, and respectful of others.
