A celebration of the arts, music under the stars, NSHS

North Shore High School embraces shared values that encourage high levels of student inquiry in math, science, the humanities, and the arts. The school takes pride in its award winning arts program that supports a vibrant theater community, a celebrated music program, and a visual arts program that celebrates and showcases student work schoolwide, year-round. On any given day our students are empowered in their roles as collaborators, communicators, thinkers, problem solvers, and committed individuals who demonstrate concern for others through their thoughts and action.

The school provides both a full international baccalaureate program and an AP program. Students are offered multiple course pathways and a rich variety of after school programming in the arts, technology, athletics, and student interest-based clubs. The building stays open from early morning until late in the evening with students engaged in everything from painting murals, to building robots, and making beautiful music under the stars through outdoor performances. A number of students also take part in our science research program, where students are active in learning to think like scientist and researchers. For the past few years the school has produced national science research student award recipients. The principal states, "Our immediate global challenges remind us that our local initiatives to develop the artists, scientists, and innovators of tomorrow are more important than ever. North Shore is excited to support the problem-solvers of today, so they may lead our efforts to promote a healthier, safer, and more sustainable tomorrow."
