Mesa Verde Elementary Celebrating our A school grade

Mesa Verde Elementary Celebrating our "A" school grade

Mesa Verde Elementary creates an environment of high expectations committed to providing educational equity for all students in partnership with our families. Our primary focus is on students and their well-being, including academic, social, physical and emotional. We have a very clear instructional model and systems in place. Our strong Professional Learning Communities are aligned to the instructional model, which makes it very easy for our staff to attain goals. Teacher teams and collaborative groups regularly interact to address common obstacles regarding curriculum, assessments, achievements, and instruction of all students. PLCs meet to analyze data, plan, and collaborate.

Teachers embrace each other's talents and grow professionally, ultimately creating a culture of positivity and collaboration. Teachers are the experts in the classroom, and data is the cornerstone in all we do; it drives instruction. Teachers are empowered to strengthen instructional practices and encouraged to find the leader that resides within.

Our formal system is in place with backward and forward planning of the assessment cycle, weekly data meetings and updating mini action plans, professional learning communities and collaboration, instructional planning models, and attendance and behavior plans. Effectiveness is monitored through a collaborative growth model and continuous tracking of our systems for improvement. The collective commitments include: safe, supportive, collaborative culture, effective teaching in every classroom, guaranteed and viable curriculum, and standards-referenced systems. Fidelity to our intricate systems is what makes Mesa Verde successful.
