Roosevelt Elementary is one of six elementary schools in Mandan, ND. Roosevelt has an enrollment of approximately 300 students in grades K-5. There are thirteen general education classrooms with over fifty staff members. Roosevelt serves all students as a Schoolwide Title I school and has staff and curriculum dedicated to English Learners. The school also provides services for students with Intellectual Disabilities, Specific Learning Disabilities, Speech/Language Disabilities, and Early Childhood Special Education. Special Education services are provided through Morton-Sioux Special Education Unit.
Roosevelt Elementary prides itself in the ability to reach every student-every day at his or her level. Classroom curriculum delivery allows students with all abilities to be successful. Students that need more assistance are targeted through the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) that provides data-based identification practices and intervention tools that focus on skills that students need to become successful. The entire staff has become invested in the process and strives to see student succeed. Through this process, Roosevelt also identifies students that need more challenging curriculum and provides applicable content and services for continued student growth.
Roosevelt Elementary is a family friendly school with a family environment. Roosevelt Elementary promotes connections and relationships with the community that foster involvement and shared responsibility for student success and school improvement. Family nights are filled with fun, food, and educational tips, so parents can assist in their child's learning. The relationships that staff have with students and parents drives the success of the school.
