Gamaliel Elementary School is where "Tigers Roar, and Students Soar!" Located at the center of the rural town of Gamaliel, our school is truly the focus of our community. The continual support of our stakeholders guarantees that each student has all resources needed to be successful.

The small-town feel extends into our school, where the school culture is repeatedly described as a family-like atmosphere. People often comment that "it's just different at Gamaliel", and that's because we truly pride ourselves on the close-knit environment that has been developed. Staff members at GES strive each day to build positive relationships and create a learning experience that makes school the best part of each student's day.

GES is a Title I school, and approximately 81% of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch. We refuse to let external factors be a barrier to our students. Instead, we see this as an opportunity to push them to achieve at high levels regardless of factors outside of our control.

At the heart of every classroom, you will find high expectations. Our teachers are very data-driven and follow a continuous cycle of formatively assessing, adjusting instruction, and providing intervention to ensure each student receives the individualized instruction they need to be successful.

Due to our high expectations, we were named an ESEA Distinguished School in 2018 for significantly closing the achievement gap between student groups. In 2019, Gamaliel Elementary earned the highest recognition of five stars on the state's assessment system. Hear us ROAR!
