Greathouse/Shryock Traditional Elementary School has long history of success because of the partnership agreement between the home and school. High expectations are in place for students, staff, and families. This enables our Lions to leave us fully prepared for middle school, academically, behaviorally and socially. Fifth graders are expected to present a student defense of learning that allows them to reflect on their growth as learners and uses artifacts from their years at Greathouse to support the claim that they are middle school ready. Our Greathouse lions uphold our high standards of excellence, both in and out of the classroom. We encourage leadership within the classroom, and well as throughout the community, through participation in various service learning projects. Our teachers work diligently to meet the needs of our diverse learners through gifted services, differentiation, and our acceleration-enrichment block known as FINE, Fostering Individual Needs Everyday. The sound of pride fills our hallways each day as our Lions affirm what we are all about..."I am a Lion, hear me ROAR. We are Lions, we stand for...Respect, Organization, Acceptance, Results. I am proud to be a Greathouse Lion, ROAR!"
