Anchorage Public School is one of the top-performing school districts in Kentucky. The school, which is the cornerstone of the community, is anchored in a rich heritage and tradition dating back to 1911. The success of our school and students is in large part due to the overwhelming community and parent support. The Anchorage Parent Teacher Association, founded on April 13, 1915, volunteers more than 10,000 hours each school year to provide enrichment opportunities for students, facility improvements, and instructional resources. Also key to our school success is the commitment of our instructional staff. Anchorage Public School's staff is dedicated to providing tailored, relevant learning models and varied extra-curricular programs, and our students respond with impressive results in the classroom and through service to the community.

Our whole-child approach to instruction is supported with learning about a monthly value through our Core Essentials Social and Emotional Learning program. Related activities equip students, staff, and families alike to Say It, Know It, See It and Be It. All monthly values build on "The Big Three" - Make Smart Decisions, Treat Others Right, and Maximize Your Potential, which we challenge our Anchorage students to live daily.

The high standards, academically, socially and emotionally, encourage students to continuously strive to be their best. This collaborative effort between the school staff, parents, and community members leads to better decisions, programs and curriculum, which in turn, leads to enhanced learning experiences for the students as they become lifelong learners.
