Sabetha Elementary School - Sabetha, KS

Sabetha Elementary School (SES) is located in the northeast corner of Kansas and is part of the Prairie Hills Unified School District. Our community has been shaped by its rural, agriculture-based economy and the entrepreneurial spirit that flourishes in Sabetha. Progressive ideals, strong ethics and hard work comprise the values of SES. We strive daily to live the "Bluejay Way." Three simple expectations (Be respectful. Be responsible. Be safe.) guide all of our actions and decisions. Everything we do is an attempt to fulfill these expectations.

Staff endeavor to support the educational needs of ALL students. Over the past four years we have implemented a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) in the areas of math, reading, and behavior at every grade level and for every student. Data indicates that students are making gains in these areas. Engaging instructional strategies are utilized to reflect varied learning styles.

The development of character, self-esteem, relationships and mentorships are an integral part of our educational environment. A focused goal is that students achieve a real sense of belonging at SES. This is best exemplified in the creation of our multi-grade level Blue Crew student groups. These staff led groups of 7-8 students remain constant throughout the students education at SES.

SES is committed to the ideal of each student acquiring lifelong skills and confidence for personal and academic success. We work to meet the needs of every child, precisely where that child is on their educational journey. Be it online or in the classroom, serving kids is the ultimate goal of Sabetha Elementary School educators.
